AI-built software development — real working tools in weeks, not months.
About
Who we are
West Product Development brings together deep mechanical engineering expertise and modern software architecture — auditing legacy workflows and implementing AI-driven tools to accelerate the product development lifecycle. We focus on renewable energy, solar, and climate-sector businesses, where outdated spreadsheets and paper-based processes slow down teams doing work that matters. Where systems already exist, we add AI and automation on top — no rebuild required.
With over 25 years of experience across Consumer Products, Machinery, and Renewables, Brian combines expert-level mechanical design with a sharp focus on modernizing the engineering workflow. He researches and applies AI-driven tools to automate the Product Lifecycle — helping transform how hardware products go from concept to production. Brian’s current work centers on replacing manual business workflows with automated digital systems built on Google Workspace, Apps Script, and custom web applications.
Jenn brings over 15 years of expertise in software architecture and development, with hands-on experience across full-stack web development, CI/CD, DevOps, and scalable infrastructure design. Her recent work leverages modern technologies including Nest.js, TypeScript, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Serverless Framework, Lambda, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake — driving efficient and resilient solutions. Beyond client work, she volunteers with the AZ Sustainability Alliance’s Food Tech for the Future program, teaching kids to code and build food computers.

Beacon — Weekly Operations Briefing
FeaturedReads the project tracker a company already uses and turns it into a single page: what needs attention this week, whether the business is on track against its own targets, and which numbers moved before the money did. It arrives as an email every Monday, or you open it whenever you like.
Built for a commercial solar contractor and now offered as a product. Leading indicators surface trouble weeks before it reaches the schedule, and a forecast-accuracy report measures how far dates actually slip over time. Every figure is computed by a rule rather than generated, so the numbers can be trusted.
SPAAMFAA — National Membership Platform
In build- Replacing the aMember Pro software a national non-profit had outgrown: member records, joining, renewing, online dues, and the officer tools to run the organization.
- Six membership categories with prices officers change themselves, dues collected through Authorize.net, automatic renewal against a card on file, and an itemized printable receipt for every transaction.
- Officer tools rebuilt around how the organization actually works: a communications log on every member record, offices held with a historical org chart back to 2019, unlimited apparatus records per member (the old system capped it at six), and layered access restricting treasury to four named roles.
- A settings screen for the numbers the platform runs on — grace periods, prices, mail charges, age limits, reminder schedules — all changeable by an officer without waiting on a new release.
30 features live on the preview site and 21 more in build, reconciled item by item against four months of officer calls. Demonstrated to the national board in August 2026.
Amy’s Roofing & Solar — Digital Proposal Ecosystem
Featured- Mapped a 30-step sales and bidding lifecycle, identifying data bottlenecks for a streamlined digital replacement.
- Built a custom sales application replacing a 34-tab legacy spreadsheet, with automated e-signatures and a tamper-evident digital audit trail.
- Automated proposal ID generation and secure record-keeping for all signed agreements.
- Delivered full implementation training and a versioned Workflow Guide for long-term team adoption.
Replaced a 34-tab legacy spreadsheet; powers the entire sales lifecycle today.
Amy’s Roofing & Solar — Field Operations Portal
FeaturedFull-stack field operations web app supporting site survey, job checkout, quality check, and task workflows. Mobile photo documentation for field crews and a real-time admin command center with role-based access control and live job status updates.
Built end-to-end — mobile photo capture for crews, real-time admin dashboard, role-based access, multi-stage job pipeline. Ready for client rollout.
Sonoma County Transportation and Climate Authorities
Pilot phase- Custom data management platform for government staff with role-based permissions for climate actions, funding records, and emissions projects.
- Public-facing web dashboard to display selected climate and transportation data to the community.
- API integrations to transition existing Excel data and link to ICLEI ClearPath 2.0 for emissions tracking.
455 climate actions tracked across 11 Sonoma County jurisdictions; 25-table relational schema.

AI Automation Workshop — Solar Industry
TrainingHands-on AI automation training delivered to a 10-person team at a solar company in Novato, CA. Practical curriculum focused on applying AI tools to real operational workflows — from proposal generation to project management.
“Thank you for the awesome AI training session. Everyone truly appreciated the course. It opened up enormous possibilities for everyone. I can already see the fruits of the learnings.”
